The season of holiday soirees and accompanying host gifts is in full swing, and chances are you’ve dropped more than a 20 or two on a bottle for Little Miss Mostess. The temptation to bring a less lavish vintage and save some dough is always there—but what if it’s terrible...and what if they notice? Fear not—Shecky’s has hired (read: bribed) four highly-trained researchers (read: run-of-the-mill lushes) from varied backgrounds to critique five red wines under five bucks so that you don’t have to. No, you won’t hear talk of austerity and tannins in these reviews, but opt for one of our three recommended vintages (all available at NYC fave Warehouse Wines & Spirits) and at least your neighbor’s hot friend won’t know what a cheap jerk you are.
