Brrr...let's face it, there’s no better time to drink than now. With the cold weather preventing you from going for that run in Hudson River Park (yeah, right!) and the lingering fear of V-Day approaching sans sweetie, you can’t help but feel like slamming your face deep into a 32-oz. brew. But before you get your booze on, you must consider budget...which is probably still recovering from the hit it took around the holidays. Afraid NY prices will force you into a long winter’s nap until the next, er, five paychecks roll around? Read on to find great boozy bargains for every day of the week that’ll cost you less than the tip you’d leave on that $21 cocktail at Bemelmans.

WEDNESDAY
There’s no better way to celebrate Hump Day than with a few Hebrew National hot dogs (free!) and cheap booze at Hell’s Kitchen staple Rudy's Bar & Grill. After passing the giant pig at the door, you'll be greeted with a welcoming eau de Port Authority, Rogaine and hot dog grease muddled with twenty-something hipsters and Times Square tourists who just didn't know any better before slinking into the delightfully dingy haven of duck-taped booths and sticky floors. A variety of brews from Bud Light to house-brewed Rudy’s Red won’t set you back more than $3 a pop, and the joint’s 1970s-era rugged charm (and jukebox music to accompany) will keep you coming back for weeks to come.
Cheapest beer deals: $2.50 Rudy’s Blonde, $3 Budweiser, Bud Light, Pork Slap Ale (can), Coors Light, Rudy’s Red, Michelob Ultra, all day, every day. And in case you missed it the first time, free Hebrew National hot dogs with mustard and ketchup to your liking.
Cheapest cocktail deals: We're not sure you can call it a "cocktail" (and when we called Rudy's to ask, they weren't quite sure either), but "like any mixer and a juice" is only gonna cost you $5.

THURSDAY
Hidden down a dark alleyway, off the beaten path of “hip downtown” and bar mecca streets like Spring or ‘Udlow, nestled humbly amongst the FiDi’s intimidating office-filled skyscrapers, Iron Horse is a diamond in the rough that serves suds at cubic zirconia prices. With let-loose lures like stipper poles, this is the perfect place to celebrate a Thursday as the work week draws to a beautiful close. Enjoy $2 PBR or Rolling Rocks, from 11:30am-8pm, to make you all but forget about your #WallStreetWoes...or the ones you’ve been protesting.
Cheapest beer deals: $2 PBR or Rolling Rock (goes up to $3 after 8pm) offered every day of the week.
Cheapest cocktail deals: $5 Crystal Head Premium Vodka, $6 shot and beer combos.

FRIDAY
By the time Friday night rolls around, everyone—even the stuffy coworker you think spends Friday night knitting—is ready to drink up and party hard. Too bad that’s when many spots in town cut back on their deals. Fret not! Chinatown’s Whiskey Tavern will hook you up with $3 Natty Lights or Genesee Cream Ales to encourage enough drinking to ensure you forget that you accidentally emailed your coworker crush about your unrequited love…instead of your 9-to-5 BFF. Brooklyn-ite or Brooklyn-bound tonight? Try The Whiskey Brooklyn Monday-Friday for light and dark drafts or a bottle of High Life, all also $3 from 12-7pm. Either ‘hood, communal tables, board games and friendly barkeep make for a laid-back and enjoyable vibe to chug down your cheap brewskis.
Cheapest beer deals: $3 Natty Light cans with complimentary koozies and $3 Genesee Cream Ales, all day, every day.
Cheapest cocktail deals: $7 mixed drinks ($6 during Happy Hour) which are almost like drinking a double because they’re served in pint glasses!
Whiskey Tavern 79 Baxter St. Bt. Bayard & Walker Sts. (Chinatown) 212.374.9119 |
SATURDAY
Saturday has happily rolled along and while you may still be nursing your hangover (hey, at least it only set you back $15), Cowgirl Seahorse will make you want to giddyup and get back on that beer-guzzlin’ horse again. The charmingly kitschy spot offers $2 Steel Reserve High Gravity Lage and, for a mere $1 more, a slew of other canned beer offerings. Dig in to Tex-Mex-meets-seafood-meets-Southern-comfort-bites (try their $20 super-filling prix fixe dinner menu), like their pulled pork sammie or rattlesnake bites (...trust us), to wash down the booze while you soak up their oddly awesome atmosphere of can mobiles, nautical knickknacks and framed cowgirl photos.
Cheapest beer deals: $2 Steel Reserve High Gravity Lager, $3 Schaeffer, Old Milwaukee, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Genesee Cream Ale, Coors Light and Carling Black Label (all cans). All day, every day.
Other cheap deals: Happy hour 4-7pm every day with $3.50 draft beers, $4 wine and $5 frozen margaritas.

SUNDAY
What’s on tap for your Sunday Funday? Come on down (as in, underground) to Down the Hatch, every New Yorker’s favorite beneath-street-level establishment for the occasional bad decision and spot to mingle with friendly locals and NYU students alike. What could be better than kickin' back, watching the game and cheering with friends while you enjoy all-you-can eat atomic wings, fries and onion rings, plus three pitchers of beer? Why, all that for $21 a person, of course! Yep, and you didn’t even have to relocate to Middleofnowheretown, Midwest to snag it. Be sure to stick around after the game to celebrate or bring on those beer tears...Down Le Hatch offers $2 domestic and $3 imported pints all night long, along with $9 domestic pitchers. Let’s just hope you’ve got a three-day weekend on deck.
Cheapest beer deals: $2 domestic pints and $3 imported pints, along with $9 domestic pitchers on Sunday nights.
Other cheap deals: $21 all-you-can-eat atomic wings, fries and onion rings and 3 domestic pitchers, $21 a person, Sundays 1-6pm.

MONDAY
Start the work week out on the right, er, feet with Turkey's Nest in Billyburg. Open the imposing metal door into an alternative universe of sorts, complete with checkered flooring and a pool table. This none-of-that-fancy-crap bar isn’t exactly the type of spot that will slam down your PBR with a smile, but they will slam it down with only a $2.50 tab. So, stumble in all day and all night and gobble up one or two (or six or seven) $2.50 cans to cure a serious case of the Mondays.
Cheapest beer deals: $2.50 PBRs or 32-oz. glasses of Bud or Coors Light, served in a Styrofoam cup for $4 (if you feel like splurging!). Both deals available every day of the week!
Cheapest cocktail deals: When Shecky’s called for the scoop, an employee answered, “What do you mean you want to know our specials? Everything costs like nothing here.” So, we’re guessing that’s code for “dirt cheap.”
Turkey's Nest 94 Bedford Ave. @ N. 12th St. (Williamsburg) 718.384.9774 |
TUESDAY
As the work week settles in, cozy up in the comforting embrace of the Hill’s sports-cum-neighborhood bar (and perhaps somebody’s arms after), Third & Long. On Tuesday nights, you can drink $3 craft beers all day and night (as in, the really good ones), such as Shock Top Belgian Ale, Speakeasy Prohibition Ale and Troegs Mad Elf. Perhaps it's a little out of your "Nothing around 23rd St. radius" and a tad too dark and bro-tastic compared to your regular haunts, but with a pick-your-own-tunes jukebox added to the practically-pennies prices, you might just want to give up all those heel-clacking nights in TriBeCa and the MePa. At least on Tuesdays.
Cheapest beer deals: $3 craft beers on Tuesdays, $3 PBRs available 'round the clock.
Cheapest cocktail deals: All well drinks $6, all the time (with a Friday special of $4 well drinks between 5-9pm).
