| Since 1972, a three-block stretch from E. Houston to Delancey Street has been closed to weekend traffic. On Sunday, June 3, three blocks of Orchard Street will be lined with modern-day pushcarts for a free five hour event from 12:00 PM to 05:00 PM called DayLife presented by Lower East Side Business Improvement. Come out to this huge backyard picnic for the best of the best in LES food, live music, and always current fashion. Grab a picnic table or lay out on the astro-turf to relax after cart-hopping, DJ lessons, work-out demonstrations and ping-pong activity. Vendors include The Meatball Shop, Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya, ‘inoteca, Sons of Essex and By Robert James.
