Boîte Couture: Who You Wear, and Where to Wear It
February 17, 2010

What good is Fashion Week if you're not partying your fashionable face off? It's time to celebrate the latest line from your favorite designer…and since they style your suits, how about some place that suit your style?

  Alexander Wang
You're downtown, edgy... you like chunky black boots, denim cutoffs, loads of gold necklaces and anything leather. And you can afford them all.  So, until the Beatriii...er, "The Kenmare" opens, you'll dig GoldBar: grungy gilded opulence, walls of skulls, and more of the titular tone than Scrooge McDuck's safe.

  Marc Jacobs
Sure, his after-party filled both floors of the Boom Boom Room. But if you are a fan of Jacobs' clean, sophisticated fashion sense, you're probably ready to skip the pretention and go for a well-made cocktail instead.  The spot for you: The Summit, a smart place for top-notch drinks.

  The late, great Alexander McQueen
Let's face it, you don't strap on a pair of lobster shoes to end up at some Big Box Club in Chelsea, right?  Because performance art is a way of life for you, may we suggest clawing your way into The Box, the Fellini-esque art space in the LES, specializing in all things debauched, vaudevillian and just plain weird.

  Isaac Mizrahi
He's designed for Target and QVC, plus he won a 1996 episode of Celebrity Jeopardy!  If you like Mizrahi, we assume you also like affordability, venerability and useless knowledge. What better place to indulge all three than with a beer and a panini during the classic Wednesday night trivia night at Pete's Candy Store

  Rebecca Taylor
Light, romantic, whimsical.  Not sure about you, but that makes us think of two things: pre-revolutionary France and spiked cupcakes. So be-head on over to Red Velvet and get frivolous!

  Zac Posen
A rising star, with a quirky new collection heavy on—get this—velour.  You like velour?  Then you might like Velour!  The cheesy-but-charming lounge is rapidly becoming the pre-game choice for Chelsea club goers. And, much like Chelsea itself, velour is very 2006, so all that’s left to do is figure out if you’re into it earnestly...or are starting to like it ironically.

  Duckie Brown
And now one for the fellas.  This men's designer new line is heavy on tartan and other wooly winter wear, kind of making you want to head to the Highlands.  Both Brown's fall line and the chic, deer head-festooned eatery are perfect for the fashionable man who still occasionally wishes to tear into a steaming plate of haggis.

  Charlotte Ronson
She's one of the hottest, hippest designers going.  And one of the hottest, hippest trends in nightlife?  Gastropubs.  Okay, it's actually hotel bars, but don't tell that to Ronson, who recently had her afterparty at Avenue. If you “heart” Ronson, muscle your way in here.
