This Father’s Day veto the traditional overly sentimental card and overpriced dinner for a gift that demonstrates creativity, originality, and thought. Devise an art tour for dad of all of New York’s greatest museums and exhibits and you won’t be able to get that smirk off his face until his next visit. Plus, we’ve already done all the legwork. The MET, the MOMA, and the Whitney are three staples you don’t want to miss. Between the three, you can see virtually every major piece of artwork on display in the U.S. The MET features impressive collections of both classical and contemporary art, and the grandeur and elegance of the museum alone is simply breathtaking. In addition to art the MOMA is home to a broad collection of architecture, digital art, and several forms of new media presentations. The Whitney’s Psychedelic Art exhibit is all the rage among New Yorker’s and may make dad reminiscent for more than those those bell bottom pants he wore in high school.
