Talk about efficiency! It’s not only the name of the place, but idiot-proof directions as well. Follow the three steps down to enter Gramercy Park’s cozy new cocktail lounge called (brace yourself) 3Steps. A wood bar seems the only bit of color in the dimly lit room where black bar stools and oversize black couches compliment the white walls evoking a gothic-like mystique, but without all the brooding usually associated with a black-and-white decked out bar. Instead, an iPod shuffles through a mix of 80s pop while locals sip $4 happy-hour specialties like the Cucumber Cosmo and Citrus Mint Martini that are stronger than what most happy hours offer. Those interested in a nibble can snack on meats, cheeses, and olives, because pub grub just wouldn’t be efficient enough. Open Sun. 4pm-midnight, Mon.-Fri. 5pm-4am, Sat. 7pm-4am.
As locals, we waited patiently all autumn for the opening. We weren't disappointed. Low key bar with great music and fabulous, attentive staff. Angela makes you feel so welcome and she was great at helping me organize my birthday party there!
