44 & X:
So the parentals are in town for the matinee showing of “Wicked” and they’re picking up the tab for drinks and dinner—but unfortunately Cipriani is out of their budget. 44 & X is the perfect spot. The dining room is clean and sleek with low lighting and white-painted wood walls. Or sit out on the breezy outdoor verandah to enjoy American menu items like braised short ribs, gooey mac and cheese, and crispy buttermilk fried chicken with chive waffles. And their Broadway line of cocktails (Stoli Magnolias, Wicked Cosmo, etc.) are served by a hip young staff wearing clever message tees; have your parents buy you one. If the parents aren’t in town and you want a similar experience without the wallet attack, head a few doors down to 44½, their sister spot. Open Mon.-Fri. 11:30am-2:30pm and 5:30-midnight, Sat.-Sun. 11:30am-3pm and 5:30pm-midnight.
What a fun place! The diverse menu is great for a picky eater, like myself. The service was great too and always made sure the table had everything they needed. The food was also some of the best I've ever had! I'll be going back there for sure!
