Oh, to be able to traipse around bars in the West Village ’til 4am and then go to work the next day! If you’re one of those lucky people (cough, trustafarian, cough, unemployed) who doesn’t have to clock in at 9am, you’re sooner or later bound to find your way to 49 Grove. This late-night hipster joint (Thursday-Saturday only) doesn’t even open ’til 9pm, so the post-work cocktail crowd is thoroughly omitted from the game plan. Still, there is something excitingly nightclubby about these four subterranean rooms and their late hours of operation. Although there is no food service, the management here prides itself on a large selection of magnum bottles, and touts 1.75 liters of Patron at $600 to be one of the best deals going. What a deal! Open Thu.-Sat.10pm-4am.
Last night I went to a great fundraiser at 49 Grove for the Susan G. Komen’s Race For The Cure Breast Cancer Charity. The weather sucked and only 100 or so people showed but the place was really high end and nice. Much nicer then I expected a fundraiser to be. Little touches like pink roses all over the place, scented candles, mints with the pink breast cancer awareness ribbon on them, even the staff had pink ribbons on. The only thing that I didn’t like about the place was the location, West Village and we live uptown and that there was no food at the event.

Great Place For A Birthday.
I had my birthday there last Saturday night. The place was a bit to packed and but a lot of fun. Good looking crowd, great DJ and very strong drinks. A bit too strong for some of my friends, but theirlight weights. All the staff were really attentive and made a point of taking care of us. When we left the club we even got a thank you from what turned out to be the owner. It wasn’t your usual B.S. “Thank you come again,” either and for that I want to plug this place as a great place for a birthday.

I go to 49 Grove frequently, and absolutely love it! The crowd is beautiful, the music is great, and the drinks are always satisfying. I feel very trendy in this place... like being at a chic rockstars lounge like Tommy Lee or a grotto similar to the Playboy Mansions.
Definately venture to this place, and mingle with the most elite crowd in NYC. Dress to impress though, because entrance is at the doormans discretion!

I went here for my friend's birthday party and had an amazing time. The spacious 4 room lounge provided everything one could imagine! We had an open bar, hors d'oeuvre and a private area. It was a great time had by all. This place is definitely high class and highly recommended.
