Amity Hall:
Amity is defined as friendship or cordiality, and anyone with a strong sense of amity with beer should probably hall ass to this Greenwich Village spot. Because, like the good friends they are, Amity Hall has complied an impressive beer list that includes some 20 standard taps (think Boddington's, Delirium Tremens and Chimay) along with 20 craft beers and an impressive list of domestic and imported bottles (ranging in price from an affordable $5 to a frightening $22). Lambics, trappists and stouts, oh my! And how about some tasteful decor while you taste your beer? The scheme here is predictable but hardly a cal-amity, as the space manages to mix a modern sensibility with an old-time feel—in other words, exposed and worn brick with clean wood furniture. Sure, it's usual stuff, but it's also inviting and comfortable, accommodating a diverse crowd chatting intellectually to the strains of indie music. This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Sc-Amity Hall - watch your bill for mis-charges!!!
THE GOOD: The ambiance (older crowd). Big space.
THE BAD : The bartenders (over charged me)
THE UGLY: The professionalism. WATCH YOUR BILL!!! Had a good time on my bday and noticed by bill was about 3X what it should have been. Didn't make a stink about it at the time because i didn't want to make a scene at my own party. Figured I'll just get it straightened out after the fact with the manger / owner, right? Wrong! The owner couldn't have been more indifferent about the discrepancy when claiming they would get on it and call me back. Went a week without hearing from her. She had no problem telling me i was "sh*t faced" (which i wasn't) and basically letting me know my concerns were meaningless to her. Funny bc they weren't meaningless to me. She loved to tell me how they run 8 different locations and practically making me feel about 1 inch tall because my dispute was a big nothing to her in a the grand scheme of things for their business. Wow, great bedside manner to a customer.
MORAL OF THE STORY: Don't be polite and figure out the dispute later because they won't be polite and respectful to you.

Impressed
Was here last weekend. Very clean and pleasing decor, excellent beer selection, and solid crowd. I'd definitely give the place another try.
