Every New York hotspot needs something to set it apart from the droves of other bars who hope to satisfy 8 million New Yorkers alcoholic needs. The brown-leather floor at this quiet lounge is one of Bar Seines many eccentric touches. Most of the continents are represented (OK, there arent any stuffed Antarctic penguins, but they wouldnt exactly look amiss here) in the dcor, which mixes leather and animal-print upholstery with an Indonesian mirror, Turkish vases, European paintings, and a Persian rug. Separate seating areas in different rooms, big, leafy potted plants, and dark velvet curtains allow for privacy. A varied menu from the hotels French Arabelle restaurant is available during bar hours. Open daily 11am-midnight.
