AVA Lounge: If the Jeffersons and the Jetsons moved in together, their sweet pad might look something like this retro-cum-modern penthouse at the Dream Hotel. Yes, Ava's multi-leveled, sky-high bar is rife with fantastic views, from the sprawling panoramas off Times Square to the well-dressed post-work partiers peppering its pillowed banquettes. Though the upper roofdeck is spacious, its multiple rooms, nooks and crannies (and exotic greenery) preserve a hideaway feeling; the indoor floor below, on the other hand, sports floor-to-ceiling windows to create a notion of soaring through the surrounding wide-open outdoor spaces (such a treat in winter!). Cocktail offerings are well worth the price tag, including options like a spritzer made with fresh muddled strawberries, fresh lemon and Absolut Citron ($14), and the bar fare keeps it classy, too (bruschetta, $9, and filet skewers, $16, anyone?). For an after-office bev or a late-night get-down under the stars, Ava is the go-to rooftop in the ‘hood.
