Ayza Wine and Chocolate Bar: The idea behind Ayza Wine & Chocolate Bar isn’t a bad one—wine, chocolate, and French-Italian fusion cuisine all add up to one dandy buzz. At this Murray Hill/Midtown hotspot, you’ll find both in excess with over 90 wines and champagnes from around the world and a wide assortment of chocolates and chocolate desserts. While the posh surroundings and the prices may not be for everyone, AYZA offers a full menu with appetizers like tuna tartare with fresh avocado, crème fraiche and sweet fish roe, and an assortment of cheese and charcuterie platters. For an entrée, choices range from assorted paninis to medallions of filet mignon with roasted port shallots. Make sure to save room for dessert, though—you’ll be glad you did. The assortment of truffles by Jacques Torres are designed to be paired with specific wines. If you want a more traditional dessert, try the warm chocolate molten soufflé.
