B.A.D. Burger: Creatures of the night rejoice—the brains behind Billyburg’s B.A.D. Burger have brought their 24-hour diner concept to the East Village. After months of delays, the all-night eatery finally arrives on Avenue A as the perfect refuge for late-night revelers seeking some serious drunchies. Approps enough, you’d have to have liquid courage to order some of these cuckoo, carb-laden creations. The massive menu reads like a laundry list of pregnancy cravings, peddling daffy dishes like pickle chips with chipotle mayo ($6), cornflake-crusted French toast ($8) and deep-fried dessert chimichangas (stuffed with bananas, chocolate chunks and sour cream, $5). For the pickier eater, there’s more classic diner fare, like the titular burger, fries, sandwiches, breakfast-all-day options (get it, B.A.D. Burger?) and much, much more. There’s also a surprisingly large selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes, so veggie-vores aren’t left out of all the fattening fun. The tiled black-and-red resto also boasts vintage video games, flat-screens, free WiFi, a backyard patio and a piano up front, perfect for drunken renditions of “Piano Man.” The only thing not on tap at B.A.D. is booze, as the bar’s liquor license is still pending, so for now it’s BYOB. And for the night owls stumbling into booths at B.A.D. Burger, BYOB clearly means bring your own buzz.
