Banshee Pub:
The Banshee Public House seems like any other Irish pub at first, but push open the heavy front door, take a seat, and you’ll soon learn it’s not. Votive candles cast a dim, warm light over the dark wood furniture, and a spotlit mural of a flying, fiery-maned spirit creates a spooky, romantic vibe. Sports fans watch games on plasma-screen televisions on the weekends, but Banshee isn’t a total sports bar. Sip a Magners cider, see the Irish bartenders draw perfect Guinnesses, and let the low-playing sounds of Radiohead and U2 seep in until the late hours—this cozy place is open ’til 4am, every night. You’ll be calling Aer Lingus for flight rates the next day. Open daily 5pm-4am.
I used to go to the Gael Pub (a couple of blocks down; there are three pubs that belong to the same owner)all the time. But since they turned that into game night everynight, I started looking for someplace mellower, this place can do that for you.
