Bar 29: An upscale version of Murray Hill's post-grad, “remember the glory days,” ball-cap-slinging singleton sports bar. While Bar 29 still keeps it sporty (pool tables and jukebox in the back), its cozy lounge coupled with the dimly lit seating area creates a wonderful counterbalance. Feel free to pop in during their daily 5-8 pm happy hour and enjoy one of their eight draft or 12 bottled beers. But, don't think Bar 29 is a one-trick pony; Saturday nights promises a live DJ (one who will take your requests!), Monday nights a visit from the American Pool Association and Wednesdays boast trivia. Okay, so maybe Bar 29 is just a frat boy in disguise. But who says we don't enjoy a man in a nice suit?
