Belleville Lounge:
A celebrated addition to the beloved namesake bistro next door, this Park Slope lounge gives locals extended hours to partake in chic French fun. Because nothing says "happy hour" quite like duck confit rillettes ($7), early-birds can enjoy hors d’ourves (that's French for "snacks," we think) with a $20 carafe of rich red wine. Fittingly, the interior has that certain je ne sais quoi about it, adorned with quintessential Parisian décor: provincial-yellow painted walls, petite white and black tiling echoing a French café and antique Parisian furnishing. So it's no wonder all the original hipsters religiously congregate here to dance to airy (or Air-y?) French pop music and to lounge, all without having to shout over the communal tables. What could have morphed into Pastis has somehow stayed an unpretentious haven, luscious and laissez-faire.
