Beloved: It’s hard to compete with nearby Matchless's rocking happy hours and Enid's vintage charm, but gimmick-less Beloved finds a niche with simplicity. The low-lit bar has a restrained décor of dark wood, exposed brick and patterned wallpaper combined with an impressively crafted cocktail list, suggesting this haunt is offering unpretentious refinement to Manhattan Ave. Ok, so there are no sequined camels, vintage accoutrements or celebrity names attached, but don’t let this put you off, Bedford dwellers—it’s still pocket-friendly with cans of Tecate going for $3 and drafts pours of craft brews on offer for a paltry $4-$6. If you crave a more deluxe tipple, indulge in one of the speciality cocktails, created by mixologists from Allswell and Lantern’s Keep. We recommend the "Falcon Rising" (rye, Fernet Branca, Benedictine, Cherry Heering, Peychaud's Bitters, $10), sure to taste even better when you can neck it back under the sun’s rays in their soon-to-open outdoor space.
