Bembe:
Though it’s located practically underneath the Williamsburg Bridge, Bembe is truly a world away. The dark, sultry space reeks of incense and features live drum and bass and DJs each weekend at 10pm. Despite all this, it’s not a stoner’s paradise. The crowd skews older, international, and sophisticated here, but once the dance floor fills up, everyone loses their inhibitions—or maybe they all just gain a few mojitos. If your nightlife has felt a bit sluggish lately, perhaps it’s time to throw on your dancing shoes, head to Brooklyn, and find yourself a Latin lover like Bembe.
This is my favorite bar in N.Y. The crowd of people I meet is a mix like no other. My friends and I come by after work so we can get a table before the crowd arrives and then we dance to the beat of the live percussion.

I think that this is the kind of atmosphere that's is compatible with my taste of entertainment. I can certainly fit into this crowd.

I live in the City and Bembe is worth the trek over, of course it's not that far but no other place matches the dancing and the chill crowd that this place offers. I would recommend it to everyone; just be prepared to get hot, sweaty and sticky!
