Bia Garden:
Named after the Vietnamese word for beer, this Orchard Street basement is being touted as NYC's first Vietnamese beer garden. Pretty cool, but here's the part we're really psyched about: Remember that scene in Goodfellas where Ray Liotta is being led through a nightclub's long back entrance to a private front row table? That's almost what the trip to Bia's garden is like, as you take an initially-disconcerting trip through their walk-in cooler to arrive at an unassuming 50-seat courtyard. Once there, a vast selection of Asian bias (including Kingfisher, Tsingtao, and Tiger Beer) are served up in buckets by the 6-, 12- or 24-pack accompanied by pre-bagged snack cart food like “Yummy Flakes” and “Snacku.” It sure kicks the crap out of another night of Beer Nuts, and thankfully there's no Bánh mì in sight. Bia even offers take out and delivery, but you wouldn't want to miss your Ray reenactment, now would you?
