Billy Hurricanes: Just like no one has ever traveled to NoLa’s French Quarter looking for a mellow morning/afternoon/evening, don’t show up at Billy Hurricanes unless you’re prepared for a drunken storm. The totally kitsch atmosphere features flashing lights, a faux yard complete with Astroturf and porch swing, carnival-style games, and hordes of under dressed and over served co-eds. The $16 scorpion bowl and $25 Das Boot (that's 96 ounces of draft!) brings in the least academic of the NYC college crowd, and the drink of the house—"Billy's Hurricane," a mysterious red rum punch—will knock you on your ass after just one $13 boot full. If you're more of a beer drinker, summon your inner hobo and order a 40 in a paper bag (Miller Highlife or Colt45). Then you’re just a spin of the Wheel-o-Shots away from taking a picture under the strategically placed "Drunk" sign—the downward pointing arrow will make the events of the evening undeniable. If the bottomless free popcorn isn't enough to sate your munchies, you can always grab an Andouille sausage or one their classic beignets, a delicious way to postpone the thundering hangover on the horizon.
