Blue Ribbon Sushi:
There are two types of sushi eaters in the world: those who love Blue Ribbon and those who don’t know what they’re talking about. The average dinner goes for roughly $25 before drinks, desserts, and appetizers, but that doesn’t stop long lines from forming on a daily basis. Bruce and Eric Bromberg, the brothers who own Blue Ribbon, also run award-worthy spots Brooklyn Blue Ribbon and Blue Ribbon Bakery. John Coltrane plays overhead, knowledgeable and attractive servers stay on the ready without being intrusive, and the well-mannered, hip crowd picks at mixed sushi platters, occasionally experimenting with things like jellyfish soaked in vinegar. Perhaps the best thing about Blue Ribbon is its being open until 2am daily. After all, it’s not like the sushi’s going to get cold.
