Blueprint: The Times may have dubbed it the city’s “least chic neighborhood,” but Park Slope gets a little dash of posh spice with Blueprint, a new upscale cocktail bar on Fifth. Concocted by Regina Christiansen and Rory Dwyer (of High Dive and Commonwealth), the bar boasts mahogany finishing, granite tables, a retro soundtrack, and a menu of specialty cocktails, small plates and snacks. Sip on one of the bar’s nine creative cocktails, like the “Swedish Monk” (gin, pear cider and chartreuse, $12), or the “Smoky Mary’s” (chipotle tequila, fresh lime, agave and an applewood smoked salt rim, $10). Nosh charcuterie and cheese for a yummy simple snack, but for the more fearless foodie, the baby octopus ($8) and rabbit rillettes ($12) are a delicious departure from standard bar fare. Prices are on par with Manhattan’s mixology bars, but the Slope spot has an easy elegance, so you get all the sophistication with none of the snootiness. Skip draft beers and dive bars and spend a night at Blueprint, where they’re keeping Park Slope classy, one cocktail at a time.
