Bowery Wine Company:
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, and Bowery Wine Company certainly doesn’t mess with the tried-and-true formula: wine + pizza + comfy booths + Springsteen on the jukebox = good. BWC’s 19 vinos by the glass and 30 by the bottle represent a good cross-section of the world’s wine regions —and if you’re indecisive, you can choose from the $13-14 wine flights. Appetizers are the heart of the menu, and along with your standard bruschetta and prosciutto and cheese plates, you can also get hummus and pita or chips and guac. A few paninis (delicious) and pizza (serviceable) round out the menu. Food is mostly in the $10 range, so you won’t bust your budget, though the pictures of men waiting in bread lines on the menu remind of tougher times. Feeling splurgy despite the current tough times? There’s a $250 Dom bottle ready for you.
HAPPY SUNDAYS! Bowery Wine Company has happy hour all day on Sundays (opens at noon) - $5 house wine, $5 sangria, $5 well drinks, $3 Bud & Bud Light, $5 chips & salsa! 13 East First Street between Bowery & 2nd Avenue

First time there; LOVED the ambience, everyone having a wonderful time out on the patio. Stayed until closing with the most attentive staff I've ever encountered. Bruce or no Bruce sighting - Definitely a place I'll go back to!

Excellent reading. I like the location, having been raised on Mott and Houston Street and LES. I just might stop by. Who knows might even run into Bruce Willis.
