Brasserie 8 1/2 boldly fuses a worldly melange of culture and cuisine. The grandly elegant red-carpeted staircase overlooks the restaurant, lounge, luminous onyx bar, and sensuous (and autographed) Matisse lithographs. A series of leather sofas and chairs create conversation nooks perfect for cozy chats or business dealings while sipping creative cocktails such as the Sugar and Spice or Sake Cider. The menu is French brasserie enhanced by an Americanized fusion of world flavors where, for example, one can have the steak frites or tuna tartare with wasabi. Suits of young and old keep the bar hopping as they end another day of market-watching while meandering locals are in search of an escape from the Midtown menagerie of tourist trap eateries. The sexy, sophisticated ambiance is a good meeting place for drinks, dinner, and, well—the rest is up to you.
This is a great place for Sunday bruch. The selection is extensive and everything just tasts great. There is so much to choose from even for the most selective person. It is great for any occasion, just invite your friends and go. It is just the best way to spend a Sunday.

Brasserie 8 1/2 achieves has a modern design, world-class cuisine and a relaxed, super-plush atmosphere. The lamb is always cooked to perfection and the truffle polenta with wild mushrooms is unbelievable! I love that there is a private dining room adjacent to the lounge for exclusive gatherings of up to 40 guests. This is one of my favorite places in town and I highly recommend it!
