Bread and Tulips: For innovative cocktails and unusual eats, tiptoe to the tulip-covered tables at this high-end hotel bar and restaurant. The elegant décor, scented candles and floral artwork lining the walls is well-complemented by a cocktail list that’s as refreshing as a day at the spa, featuring concoctions like the Spritzetto (Prosecco, Aperol, Martini Bianco and fresh lime, $12) and the Park Avenue Tea (vodka, pineapple iced tea, lemon, candied ginger and simple syrup, $12). Their food menu is, er, refreshing as well…with items like charred octopus ($14) and rabbit porchetta and rack ($27), it’s certainly not for the narrow-minded or the weak of heart. Even their pizzas get wild (including choices like a lardo, farm egg and sorrel pie, whatever the heck that is…), but don’t expect the crowd to do the same: this upscale locale is best for the adventurous of mouth and traditional of scene.
