Brooklyn Beach Shack:
Open since roughly the start of the summer, Brooklyn Beach Shack is a quaint locale that will almost make your staycation seem legit. Nestled between Piers 1 and 2 of Brooklyn Bridge Park, this small poolside shack offers all the beachy norms, doling out hamburgers, hot dogs, tasty shakes and specials like pork rib tenderloin to boardshort-sporting swimmers. Try and make it over after 6pm when the snot-nosed crowd is at a minimum and the booze is flowing. While you’re not likely to meet the partner of your dreams here, the people watching is great. Kick back with a Brooklyn Lager, grab an 1834 and take in the awkward adult in the mini pool scene to make the most of this great outdoor pregame spot.
