Brooklyn Bridge Wine Bar: Ever since Brooklyn Bridge Park opened—simultaneously offering gorgeous views of the bridge, a cool ocean breeze, and the pleasant scratch of grass on your backside—amorous couples have been flocking to the scene bearing makeshift picnics. While deli sandwiches and Sigg bottles full of vino certainly has its quaintness, for those times when you may be bringing, say, a first date or client to impress, now you can take it up a notch with Brooklyn Bridge Wine Bar. Tiny tables with umbrellas line a stone mezzanine, offering a seat from which to sip a (plastic) glass of Prosecco ($8) or Pinot Noir ($9). Or, stop off with the whole fam and climb onto the wooden picnic bench, ordering up a lunch of sandwiches ($7-8) and salads ($4-8) to replenish after the requisite stroll over from Manhattan. Even better, make like the geniuses and tell your boyfriend in line at Grimaldi’s that you need to use the ladies—he’ll have barely inched forward, in the time it took you to cool off with a delicious Blood Orange Sangria ($7). |
