Two worlds collide at this dark, elegant bar: that of the neighborhood’s Italian descendants, who once occupied this space in a men’s social club (and still hold reign in framed sepia photos), and that of the trendy local youngsters who currently overrun it. There is, to be sure, a wonderful gray area—those quiet hours when the jukebox isn’t drowned out by buoyant voices. Only then can you fully appreciate the classic warmth of the red tin ceiling and stately wooden bar, savor an expertly poured cocktail from your tie-clad bartender, or unwind in the spacious backyard as you tuck into a panini. You can join the masses later in shooting pool and clinking glasses—for now, the old-school nostalgia of decades past is all yours.
Best martinis ever...great neighborhood bar with a good back room for pool...and even better if you can snag the enclosed booth back there(great for dates).
