Brother Jimmy's:
Don’t be fooled by the gritty backwoods décor—this Upper East Side ode to the Carolinas is a local hangout for the Polo set seeking home-style cooking and a lively bar. A flirty bar staff pours from a well-stocked shelf that doesn’t rely on huge flat-screens for entertainment. For the Ritalin-dependent there are retro amusements wedged into the scene, including an unlikely skee ball table. Kosher gets the kibosh here, with a pork-heavy menu of Carolina ribs and barbecue, while preppie 30-somethings leer at tight-shirted waitresses. On the subject of annoying, please leave the cowboy hat at home, buckaroo.
Not everything is race related, but that does not mean this incident was not.

We ate at the same restaraunt and had a wonderful experience. Not everyything is race related.

I went to this Brother Jimmy's this weekend for barbecue only to come face to face with some ugly racism. My girlfriend and I were trying to get a table, at first the hostess greeted us and then said she couldn't help us. We waited for a minute and another hostess seated us between the emergency exit and a very loud party of six. With no room to sit and eat comfortably we requested to sit at one of the other 20 empty tables. To which we were told there were none available and that we could wait if we wanted to. Rather than get upset, I decided that we would spend our money elsewhere.
