Cafe de la Esquina at the Wythe Diner:
The new BK outpost of Manhattan’s famed scenester mecca manages to perfectly meld its chic past with a cool Williamsburg future. Housed in the old Wythe Diner, the resto has maintained old-school charm in all three of its distinct spaces: the dark-and-cozy formal dining area, the long front bar (complete with original red-vinyl barstools) and the oversized back patio that's peppered with turquoise tables. Order your favorites from the original La Esquina menu (still divinely prepared), or try out Brooklyn-exclusive additions like the guisado, a triple-stacked container of meat, fresh veggie rice and house-made corn arepas for your DIY pleasure ($18-$23). Sip a classic margarita ($10) or a michelada (a super-tart, beer-based Mexican classic, $6) as you unwind to the ultra-hip playlist and take in the unsurpsingly attractive crowd—it's still La Esquina, after all.
