Enjoy a hearty lager served alongside a plate of long wieners? Who doesn’t! All you non Freudians can get your phallic fix at Café Katja, LES' newest Austrian neighbor. This bratwurst-lovin' spot promises drunkenness with a selection of international bottles and drafts, along with a variety of smoked meats, a combination that might make even the burliest of men a little Katja-curious. If words like Gosser and Brau Weisse aren't in your vocab, their drink menu is full of wine and cocktails to satisfy the more delicate palette. Specialties including the Rosa, made with xuxu strawberry liquer, elderflower ginger, and fresh lemon juice, will get you tipsy, as well as turn your piss into a potpourri air freshener. Otherwise stick to the basics and soak up a refreshing Gaffel with a warm soft pretzel and a Weisswurst or two. Despite the menu of masculine meats, exposed brick and dim lights are so cozy that you might have to eat your linzer torte to the sound of hipster kisses from the table next to you.
