Cafe Notte:
Tired of overcrowded, understaffed Internet cafés? Café Notte to the rescue! Internet café by day, wine bar by night, this modern, sleek spot is an ideal place to work and play (and Facebook ). It may not be the hippest Internet café or the sexiest wine bar - this is the Upper East Side, after all - but it does a good job of bridging the gap between the two. The seating is against the walls, making it more clutter-free than your inbox, while small chandeliers and satin throw pillows snazz it up a bit. A simple menu of small plates like bagels and brownies makes for the perfect study break. Or just blow off your work entirely and start drinking wine. More stylish than a Starbucks and quieter than the neighborhood frat bars, Café Notte is a solid "hook up" spot.
Such a nice surprise. What a Wine Bar should be, cozy and sophisticated (tis one is even romantic.) We walked in by accident after being turned off by a wine bar attempting to serve adults which felt like a an uncomfortable show store. Notte looks and feels great inside, was romantic, had great music (and we heard ourselves speaking) and had great food and wine.

I went to Cafe Notte when it first opened and had a terrific cheese platter - cheese, fruit, warm bread, honey, nuts, all kinds of good stuff worthy of the price. When I went back the second time, not only were they out of nearly all cheeses, when the platter was served, it had a few slices of cheese and a few pieces of bread, that's it! I could have done that at home. I live in the neighborhood and was going to make it my new watering hole - now I won't go back.

Very pretty place, with delicious offerings, helpful staff & the most attractive clientele in UES. Relaxed and beautiful all the way around.
