Caffe Muzio: Emerging from the flood that sunk West Village favorite Choptank is Caffé Muzio, a completely delightful wine bar/restaurant mash-up. Couples and small parties of twenty- to forty-somethings are flocking to the slim space’s marble-topped bar and metal-topped raised tables to enjoy wine (by the glass, bottle or quartino) and small plates served by an accommodating staff. The menu is divided into greens, grains, meat, fish, cheese and dessert, so there’s plenty to keep you from getting tipsy off that Lambrusco too soon. A selection of American beers is available by 10- and 16-ounce glasses, though anyone looking for a beefed-up brewski may order a Michelada (Lions Head pilsner, Calabrian chilies, Worcestershire and lime, $7). Il Presbyteriano (Wild Turkey rye, Amaro and ginger beer, $13) packs a stronger punch, so mind the steep stairs down to the restrooms after one or two of those—the restaurant may be charming, but a drunken tumble is not.
