Caprice:
It’s hard to stomach an annoying door policy in Queens—especially in a little club tucked under the Astoria Blvd. stop next to a Century 21. You’ll most likely get beef from the no-neck bouncers outside Caprice if you’re wearing jeans or sneakers or if you’re under 23, the pointless minimum age here. If you pass inspection, you also better hope you brought your own friends. The attractive young Greeks that dominate the crowd generally keep to themselves. Despite it all, Caprice can be a thrilling late-night Astoria experience if you’re open to it. Let loose, do your thing—even if it means idiotic undulating in the corner to the Eurotrash techno and Greek power ballads. When things really get crazy, the chandeliers above the bar start swinging and paper napkins flutter in the air like confetti. You’ll forget the everyday grind and embrace this undeniably contagious scene.
