Carte Blanche Cafe & Bar @ Gansevoort Hotel:
The perfect complement to the Gansevoort Hotel’s rooftop club, the newly opened Carte Blanche is a sweet getaway from the noise up above and the perfect place to further indulge that morning hangover with some much needed hair-of-the-dog—specialty drinks are $12, or $50 for a pitcher serving five. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with a Japanese fusion theme, this swanky space is the perfect spot to dine (or wine) in leisure. Enjoy crepes on their outside patio in the warm weather, or sip on a Strawberry Splash (Russian standard vodka, lemon juice and muddled strawberries) at the bar inside while you shoot some pool. The décor is dark yet sophisticated with deep red accents and truly unique light fixtures. The DJ booth set up in the corner might seem a bit out of place, but hey, they clearly just want to cover all their bases. DJ? Check. Pool table? Check. Mixing elegant class and old-school fun in one place? Definite check.
