Catch: The Meatpacking District has recently become less associated with meat than meat market clubs. Catch, a strictly seafood-serving three-story behemoth, makes its presence known in the nabe...kinda on both accounts. Opened by Top Chef victor Hung Huynh, the first floor offers a raw bar (oysters, $18 per six) and sushi, the upstairs serves more adventurous dishes (some of which Huynh used to win the reality show) like dungeness crab spaghetti ($22) and toro tartare ($38), while the glass-enclosed roof penthouse features a gold brick lounge perfect for you and your partner to dance off the stuffed crab for two ($92). Cocktails are fruity, frilly and pricey ($13-15), but perfect for sloshing around as you try to reel in your own catch of the day (or night). The décor is bright, bold and faux-industrial, more fit for Times Square than a “cool” neighborhood, but quite lively to go along with the scene. Despite the unassuming name, Catch is brash, loud, over-the-top and ultimately...pretty damn fun.
