Cervantes' Oyster Shack & Bar:
Summertime at Cafe Select brings on an entirely new kind of cool. Beyond the façade, where long-haired beauties smoke cigarettes on Lafayette Street, and just past the two-tops hosting tattooed pretty boys tucking into Swedish veal, lies the industrial-chic backroom--and the newest outpost for this restaurant: an oyster bar. Cervantes' Oyster Shack & Bar is discretely located in the back of the café and serves up the simplest of seafood menus: a daily selection of oysters and mussels that perfectly accompany fresh octopus or lobster salads, alongside ceviche and shrimp cocktail. Cervantes’ shakes-up signature sips like a pina colada with housemade coconut base and “The Mermaid” with honey and Prosecco ($12), but nothing goes better with a bivalve than a glass (or bottle!) of champs.
