Chez Lucienne: Harlem is a cultura mecca, but we understand if it's not the first place you'd look for a French Restaurant, especially one the caliber of Chez Lucienne. But this beautiful bistro, opened by Jerome Bougherdani and Matthew Tivy (they of Daniel fame) is a wonderful addition to nabe, appealing both to the locals and European backpackers with solid French fare and a very friendly staff. The intimate dining area, with powder blue banquettes and dim lighting, make for a truly romantic feel. If you find your visiting during lunch, we have two (French) words: Croque Madame. Here, it's served up with paprika chips and a salad for under $11. So for all you folks who "never" go past 23rd street, we suggest going the extra hundred. Open Lunch, 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. (M-F), Brunch 11 a.m.-3 p.m (Sa.-Su.), Dinner 5 p.m.-11 p.m. (Su.-Th.), 5 p.m.-midnight (F-Sa.)
