Either you enjoy the stretch of bars off Second Avenue in Turtle Bay, or you roll your eyes at whatever idiot friend just suggested you spend your night in a sloppy, fratty hell. If you’re in the first group, you’ll welcome Copia to the neighborhood with open arms as you can drink your face off at one of its several bars. Try “The Lush” cocktail (rose champagne, pear juice and Grand Marnier, $12) or the “Love Lychee” (lychee puree, elderflower liqueur and prosecco, $12). Those in the “oh hell no” camp might be pleasantly surprised to find the mess that was Metro 53 is now sleek and worthy of your patronage. If the American food doesn’t reel you in (upscale pub grub and a not-to-be-missed “cookie smash” dessert), maybe the ladies-only drink special will—$5 for any vodka cocktail Saturday from 9-10pm. Between the food, booze, nine flat-screens and dance music, it’s a veritable nightlife cornu…(wait for it)…copia.
