Coppelia: The 24-hour diner is no stranger to New York, but Coppelia is not your typical greasy spoon. It’s more like a greasy cuchara. Named after an ice cream shop in Havana, Coppelia is slinging Latin-accented fare in a room adorned with Cuban flare. No plate is over $17, and dishes like mazorca (corn, chipotle mayo and cotija cheese) and frita cubana (sirloin burger, chicharron, lettuce, tomato, pickles and roasted pork) go for $3 and $7 respectively. Like any other diner, eggs are served all day—here, they’re called “huevos” and come with chimichurri home fries. But one thing you won’t find is booze. Then again, when stumbling in at 4am post Meatpacking shenanigans, more cerveza is probably the last thing you’ll need. Instead, go for a slice of chocolate cake with dulce de leche buttercream ($7). It’s not exactly healthy, but you’ve likely made worse choices tonight.
