Covet Lounge: One look at the décor and bottle-focused set-up, and you won’t find it hard to believe that this Midtown newbie comes courtesy of Eric Milon, the same man who’s responsible for bringing Mansion to New York City. The bi-level space has the fantasic Vietnamese restaurant Baotique on the main floor, and a spacious underground lounge with seemingly endless nooks for canoodling (with, from the looks of the crowd, your secret lover). If you can drag your eyes away from the pretty people, you’ll find oversized mirrors, black-croc embossed wall paneling, faux fur pillows, cow print stools and skull-detailed tables—apparently the owners coveted it all! Cocktails range from a recession-friendly $18 to a pricier $160 for the Icarus (made with House Essence Flambé, Premium Saffron, Louis XIII, and Hand Chiseled Ice—because machine ice just doesn’t have the same market value). Yep Covet, like some of the women who frequent it, will love you until your money runs out (and vice versa), which may not be the wisest strategy in the black hole that is Midtown….
