d.b.a.:
While some bars have a few bottled beers and a few more on tap, d.b.a.’s selection is beyond staggering. While you will find plenty of beer connoisseurs here, you won’t find any watered-down lagers. d.b.a. has everything from Belgian Trappist Rochefort 10 to Brooklyn Brewery’s Black Chocolate Stout on tap, among countless others. If you want something stronger, they have dozens upon dozens of tequilas, whiskeys, and bourbons. Happy hour is every day of the week with one buck off all drinks, which start around $5. The bar has a revolving calendar of events from “Cheese Mondays!”—offering complimentary cheese, olives, and other goodies—to alcohol tasting nights with seasoned professionals who’ll talk about the booze as much as you’ll drink it. Grab a pint and a shot of bourbon, head for the outdoor garden if it’s warm out, and never think about drinking a Bud again.
My friends and I have been patrons of DBA bar for years...that's over now...a few days ago, my presence as a black woman there led to a bartender and manager behaving unbelievably rudely and just plain wacky toward me when I was at the bar trying to order drinks. The bartender made a racist-based comment about me and the manageer visibly, looked as though she was enjoying adding on with uncalled for insulting behavior...
This place may be more suitable for racists and their apologists...
Luckily, there are plenty of other great(and smoking) bars/restuarnts in the area! Had to provide rating to this place at all or this site could not post my comment

This must be one of the better “beer gardens” in the city, great selection of beer, not expensive, great vibe and nice and friendly staff. The outdoors tend to get pretty busy early in the evening, so don’t come too late if you are planning on sitting outside. One major plus is that you can bring your own food or have the bartender order something from the menus behind the bar. The minuses is that like most outdoor places in the New york, it closes at ten or eleven and you have to move inside. I have been here several times and I have always ended up having the greatest times.
