Da Silvano:
You know why Page Six is always brimming with sightings of celebutantes on the outdoor patio of Da Silvano, as opposed to at a dining table? Those skinny bitches aren’t eating the food, even if they’re the only ones who can afford it. This over-priced mecca of Manhattan scenesters will run you $16 for a class of Chardonnay and $20 for a plate of plain spaghetti doused in oil. The ambience may be romantic, but there’s no bar, and the service is so slow that those rustic (i.e. hard) wooden chairs become less atmospheric and more of a pain in your ass when you get stuck waiting in them for your food all night. Always packed, Da Silvano is best braved with reservations made weeks in advance, or you can scoot over to the much less crowded and laidback Da Silvano Cantinetta next door to watch Italian American Idol at the bar with the waiters.
