Danny's and Eddie's:
As one of the newest pubs to hit the neighborhood, Danny’s and Eddie’s has a standard of general Upper East Side mediocrity to uphold. Indeed, by way of its typical pub trappings and $3 happy hour deals (2pm-8pm daily), this bar is doing a decent job of keeping up with the Joneses. The beer selection is boring and the wine selection is, unsurprisingly, nearly non-existent. Nonetheless, it’s nice to sit in a squeaky-clean pub where the pool table felt is still green. Come summer, Danny’s and Eddie’s raises its stock with its outdoor beer garden, filled with umbrella-covered tables. For a cold beer, Danny’s and Eddie’s still gets the job done, whatever the season.
I've been in bars with bikers riding Harley's with real horse saddles on them in Dec. in Alaska, been in Ice Houses in Texas where everyone was armed. I've never felt as uncomfortable in a bar anywhere as when I went to this hole on the UES. This place is a Dirty, Nasty Drug Dealing, wannabe of a bar.

I don't know when the last time was that the people that commented on this place have actually been there, but i drive down from Westchester every weekend and love it. Everyone that runs the place from the owners down to the barback are all good people. Drink prices are very reasonable. especially for Manhattan. The patrons that are in the place when i'm there either keep to themselves or are very friendly. Having a back yard with a grill and a few tables with umbrellas is a huge plus. I guess the best way for anybody to find out how the place truly is, is to just go for yourself and check it out. I could almost promise you that there will be no regrets.

Do yourself a favor and do not waste your time here. This bar has the same 7 people in it everytime I am there. They look very questionable and ready to fight anyone for any reason. This is not a place to find or bring a date. The staff is very rude and it takes forever on a slow night to get a drink. I guess its good then that this places is always dead or id never get a drink. The backyard would be a decent spot except you have to look out for very friendly rats all over the place. The band that performs there is awful and sing the same stuff every week. The karaoke is boring and the same 4 people sing. Both the band and karaoke could hide and not be so bad if people actually came to the bar. The plus is that the bar will let you smoke after midnight inside. It does get very smokey inside but I am a smoker so I enjoy it. All in all though, I would stay away from this place. There are 10 better bars within 2 blocks in every direcion of this place.

This place is an absolute hole and a waste of a business. The staff is constantly changing including management mainly because no one wants to work there. The drinks are small and expensive. The glasses are re-used without cleaning. The bartenders have no clue or knowledge of common drinks or how to pour them. My wife and I ordered a Stella and a margarita and received a foamy $7.00 draft beer, and a $10.00 vodka cranberry (bartender had no clue what was in a margarita) with lipstick on the glass and a fly frozen in the ice. When I received my tab I had been over charged and there were drinks on my tab that I had never ordered. The restrooms were occupied with hundreds of flies and a very foul smell. The backyard would be nice if you weren't greeted by large rodents every time you go out for a smoke. The back of the bar is also crowded with thug type guys playing cards on illegal gambling machines. I am also no bouncer but there were at least 7 underage kids in the bar and I'm not talking 20 year olds either. There were some definite 17-18 year olds drinking up a storm and getting hostile and rude. 2 of them in the backyard asked me if I knew where they could get some coke. This bar is a complete dump and nothing about my experience here with my wife was even slightly enjoyable. Stay far away from this place as there are a ton of other bars in the neighborhood that are priced reasonably and know what it takes to run a successful business.
