Der Kommissar: In Austria, when you’re looking for a snack, a beer and a chat, you don’t go to a bar, you go to a sausage stand. And that’s exactly what Der Kommissar, named after a song by Austrian '80s pop-sensation Falco, is aiming to re-create. This 20-seat Park Slope sausage shrine is an homage to the traditional Austrian Würstelstand, but done in both a swanky and yet still typically Brooklyn way. A twist between a fast-food joint and an upscale bar, Der Kommissar’s black accent walls, exposed brick, finished cement floor, industrial metal chairs and sports-playing flatscreen, give the spot a man-cave vibe. Or maybe it’s the fact that thus far, the place is predominantly frequented by men, munching on one of the seven sausages while knocking back a draft of Schneider Edelweiss or Reissdorf Kölsch. In other words, it’s a veritable sausage-fest.
