Dock's Oyster Bar Midtown:
Break out the corporate credit card because Docks is perfect expense account fodder; its upscale and enjoyable enough to make you feel good about sticking the bill to The Man, but not so extravagant that the boss will have your head. A classic American seafood restaurant, Docks is home to fresh surf and solid turf. If youre not in the mood for snapper, theres a busy bar where you can set down your anchor for an after-work tipple. This place can get flooded with young professionals, and the Midtown locations proximity to Grand Central lends itself to commuters, so theres not much of a neighborhood feel. But if you can stand feeling landlocked shoulder-to-shoulder when the 5pm whistle blows, navigate your way to Docks, which also hosts a New England clambake on Sundays and Mondays.
This place was good food but horrible service. We were ignored when we walked in because the man and the hostess were flirting or in some deep conversation. The server, an eastern european girl was very rude and acted annoyed to my bosses questions about the different salmons. The girl that was training with her was very sweet and tentative. The bus boy left plates on our table for ages until the trainee came and took them away. The man at the door was still fliting with the hostess and neither bothered to say goodbye.
