Donnybrook:
Donnybrook is a straightforward but sophisticated Irish pub that keeps it simple. There’s nothing out of the ordinary here—you’ll hang out under some low lighting at a no-nonsense bar that, depending on the bartender's mood, may or may not tolerate dancing on its quartz countertop. The tables are big enough for larger groups and bring a little bit of history to the place: they're made from wood salvaged from an 18th-century Bronx club. There’s a wide selection of moderately priced drinks and an as yet-to-be determined menu, although the folks at Donnybrook are planning on keeping it simple (shock of all shocks) and offering "Irish-influenced meat and potatoes” fare. If you’re looking for a bar without the table pounding of the typical sports fans who normally flock to Irish pubs, Donnybrook is the way to go. Open daily, noon-4am.
I actually liked the old Lotus but I like this new incarnation oh so much better. The ceilings are high and the whole place is windows giving it a really beautiful open feel. As the description said, they do have an excellent selection of whiskey and scotch. I will definitely be going back.
