Draft Barn:
Though it's a little out of the way, the Draft Barn should be a destination for any true beer nerd. Located in a fairly industrial area on 3rd Ave in the South Slope, the bar transports you to Bavaria when you walk through the double glass doors. Draft Barn is paneled in dark wood and features long, polished tables perfect for gathering friends, hoisting a stein, and dancing the polka (maybe after a couple steins). The beer list is extraordinarily daunting at first glimpse, featuring over 250 possible beers ranging from $5 to $400 (Samuel Adams Utopia in a bottle). Most staff members are knowledgeable, however, and some are expert (look for the short guy behind the bar). The Draft Barn serves traditional German food in generous portions, so load up on schnitzel and start drinking.
