If you aren’t sporting black, go home, and make sure you are thoroughly dark and angry at the world be-fore coming back. The staff at Duke’s isn’t exactly of the have-a-nice-day variety, and this is definitely a local hangout that doesn’t embrace newcomers. Hell, they haven’t even updated the furniture in this dive for what looks like a hundred years—you think they’re going to welcome your sorry newbie ass with open arms? Duke’s peddles martinis as their drink of choice, but in this rock ’n’ roll bar, it’s best to stick with the old standby, beer. Duke’s has outdoor seating, and nobody is putting on airs in an otherwise high-falutin’ hipster ’hood.
