E&E Grill House:
There may be debate over which steakhouse is New York’s best, but there’s no disputing the top grill house…mainly because nobody has ever heard of such a thing. Introducing E&E Grill House, which defines itself as “a modern, more approachable take on the traditional steakhouse, featuring novel and contemporary grilled foods.” At least that explains the Grilled Caesar ($10) on the menu. Located in the heart of the Theater District, the brightly accented dining room is occupied by the usual touristy suspects, and unless they subscribe to the philosophies preached in The Book of Mormon across the street, they can be found sipping beer, wine and Massachusetts’ Barrington Coffee while this grill house awaits its liquor license. Meat, of course, makes the menu (like the $35 Filet), but additional options include a Pan-Roasted Scottish Salmon ($32). Apparently by “more approachable” they didn’t mean “less expensive.”
